Speaker: Dan Crane, Resident Teaching Artist, Shakespeare Theatre Company (bio)

This interactive workshop will engage participants in acting concepts and exercises designed to strengthen and clarify communication in both formal and informal settings. Participants will discover how space, physicality, and vocal communication affect the stories they tell. Through a mixture of lecture and interactive exercises, participants will explore key concepts in acting and text analysis used by classical actors.

Attendees will:

  • Identify techniques used by theatre professionals to utilize space, body, and voice to achieve their goals and objectives and to engage their audiences
  • Recognize ways theatre professionals employ objectives and tactics to enhance communication
  • Practice applying these tools and strategies to enhance their communication
