Leadership in Times of Change or Crisis: The 2020 Version

Presenter: Rob Mockrish, President and Chief Investment Officer, KMF Coaching Solutions

Description: This presentation will focus on leadership of organizational and institutional change as well as change leadership created by crisis.  Factors common to both planned and unplanned change, as well as the unique factors of each type of leadership change will be discussed.  Participants will gain an understanding of how change/crisis effects certain aspects of brain functioning regarding human interactions; communication, interpersonal, self awareness, and problem solving/thinking skills.  Leadership response and positive actions leaders can take in times of change will be outlined.  In closing, Dr. Mockrish will discuss lessons learned and positive steps that can be taken by leaders based on past and current circumstances.

Learning Objectives:

1. Identify the similarities and differences between planned and unplanned change

2. Develop an understanding of how change/crisis effects certain aspects of brain functioning regarding human interactions

3. Examine how we, and those around us spend time during the day and the effect this has on our ability to function in times of change/crisis

4. Identify positive steps that can be taken by leaders to promote positive functionality on their teams and in their organization

Dr. Rob Mockrish is a passionate leader, educator, coach, and visionary. He studied at Furman University, Emory University, and Columbia University and executive coaching at the College of Executive Coaching.  His coaching work utilizing brain research and learning theory encourages the use of best practices to create and sustain individual growth. Rob's work internationally includes assisting aspiring leaders, current leaders and organizations to deal with change, improvement, and growth. Rob holds the profound belief that all people have the capacity to learn, grow, and achieve their life and career goals. His efforts in developing individual improvements in interpersonal skills and self-awareness has repeatedly resulted in positive career trajectories, while incorporating a healthy work/life/family balance. His coaching practice focuses on interpersonal skills and self-awareness, leadership development, conflict resolution, crisis management and career goal planning.
