Description: 2022 will be here before we know it, is your organization ready for all the new accountings standard updates?

Join Greg Plotts, CPA, Partner and Mark Robins, CPA, Partner  of  Aronson LLC as they discuss Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) Accounting Standards Updates (ASUs) that were effective in 2021 and that will be effective in 2022 and 2023.

Effective 2021:

  • ASU 2018-14, Compensation—Retirement Benefits—Defined Benefit Plans—General (Subtopic 715-20) Disclosure Framework—Changes to the Disclosure Requirements for Defined Benefit Plans
  • ASU 2018-15, Intangibles—Goodwill and Other—Internal-Use Software (Subtopic 350-40): Customer’s Accounting for Implementation Costs Incurred in a Cloud Computing Arrangement That Is a Service Contract

Effective 2022:

  • 2019-12, Simplifying the Accounting for Income Taxes
  • 2020-01, Clarifying the Interactions between Topic 321, Topic 323, and Topic 815 (a consensus of the FASB Emerging Issues Task Force)
  • 2020-07, Presentation and Disclosures by Not-for-Profit Entities for Contributed Nonfinancial Assets
  • 2020-10, Codification Improvements

  • Discuss ASUs and their effective dates applicable to nonprofit organizations. 
  • State financial statements and disclosure impacts of ASUs.
  • Review implementation requirements of ASUs to be adopted.
