Cybersecurity Essentials for Nonprofit Leaders: Protecting Your Mission and Data
Nonprofit organizations are increasingly targeted by cyberattacks, and executives need to know what they’re up against and how to combat the latest threats. This panel discussion will provide a comprehensive overview of the current threat environment and essential measures nonprofits can take to bolster cybersecurity. Attendees will hear about the unique vulnerabilities for nonprofits as they relate to data breaches, phishing attacks, and ransomware. Leaders will come away with actionable strategies to protect their organization from evolving threats and foster a culture of cyber awareness among all levels of staff.

Janet Oren, CISO/Security Advisor, Hartman Executive Advisors
Janet has literally grown up with the field of cybersecurity over the past four decades. After starting her career as a middle school math teacher, she pivoted and went back to school for computer science. This move launched her career in cybersecurity and led her to the National Security Agency. In her more than 30 years with the agency, Janet progressed from an intern to a senior executive in the technical field of cybersecurity, overseeing many projects to protect private government information. She brings to Hartman vast experience in systems security engineering, security design and architecture, system development lifecycle, incident response and remediation, policy and governance, and risk assessment.
At Hartman, Janet helps organizations protect their data in a way that makes sense for their business. She dedicates herself to each client she serves, and takes them on an organized and thorough journey to becoming cyber secure and industry compliant. Janet draws on her experience with the federal government and with Legg Mason, where she served as Chief Information Security Officer. In her role, she developed and implemented a security program and architecture for the global firm of 1,500 employees and 1,000 contractors. She also led 24/7 monitoring, incident response and investigation capabilities, and was responsible for security awareness campaigns and continual education of the workforce.
Outside of work, Janet enjoys spending time with her three grandchildren and taking on home renovation projects. She is also involved in the CISO Executive Roundtable and serves on the board of trustees at her church. When her schedule permits, she is an adjunct professor of information security at Towson University and Anne Arundel Community College.
Christina Ryan DiGiulian, Partner, Relationship Development & Marketing, Hartman Executive Advisors

Outside of the office, Christina enjoys traveling, trying new restaurants and spending time with family. She is an active volunteer in her community and serves as a mentor to other young professionals.
Gevorg Adamyan, Chief Integration Officer, ACDI/VOCA
Gevorg Adamyan leads ACDI/VOCA’s Knowledge Management, Business Engagement, and Information Technology teams to help the organization work better, smarter, and more effectively. Since joining ACDI/VOCA in 2001, most recently as Executive Vice President of Inclusive Market Systems, Gevorg has developed strategies to strengthen market systems, empower smallholder farmers, and improve incomes and levels of food security and nutrition. He has guided product development in agribusiness systems, market facilitation, and the supporting policy environment. Previously, Gevorg worked at the U.S. Department of State, the Peace Corps, and the Eurasia Foundation. He holds the equivalent of a master’s degree in economics from Yerevan State University and is fluent in English, Armenian, and Russian.
