FAR Board & Volunteer Committees
Communications & Marketing
Responsible for helping staff with developing content for email and social media for events. In addition, helps with content for FAR monthly e-newsletter. An optional sub-group can focus on FAR website enhancements.
Conference (Board must first decide if FAR will have a 2023 conference.)
Responsible for helping conference chair with planning the annual conference. Subcommittee of the Program Committee.
Finance (Chaired by FAR Treasurer)
Reviews financial statements, assists in preparation of budget, audit, and investments.
Membership (Chaired by FAR Secretary)
Establishes recruiting and retention programs for Nonprofit Members. (This committee has one subcommittee: the Mentoring Committee to welcome guests and new members.)
Nominating and Leadership Development (Chaired by FAR Immediate Past Chair)
Develops a matrix of skill sets needed for board consideration and oversees the election process.
Program (Chaired by FAR Vice-Chair)
Identifies topics and recommends speakers for monthly luncheons and programs such as nonprofit member breakfasts, webinars, and other events. Arranges for CPEs where appropriate. (This committee has three subcommittees: Nonprofit Member Breakfasts, Social Events, and CPE - please see their respective descriptions.)
Certifications (CPE, CAE)
This is a subcommittee of the Program Committee and reviews materials and learning objectives for monthly educational programs offering certification credit to ensure they meet the requirements established by issuing organizations, such as NASBA and ASAE.
Members-Only and Social Events
This is a subcommittee of the Program Committee and includes planning for the member holiday luncheon and other social events FAR participates in.
Nonprofit Forum Discussions
This is a subcommittee of the Program Committee and will plan nonprofit breakfasts/discussions for peer-to-peer networking and educational discussions. Locations of breakfasts may vary.
Strategic Partnership Task Force*
The Strategic Plan Task Force develops, helps implement and track a three year plan to keep FAR a relevant and sustainable resource that serves association professionals in the field of finance, IT and HR.
